Fashion and Grass
Day TWO: Albuquerque NM to Elk City, Oklahoma. 500 miles.
~ AM: Design, jewelry, bloggers, social media, trends and shops.
~ PM: Back in the car and just grass… hours and hours of grass, green grass, dry grass, dead grass and all over again.
What a contrast!
Akin to the contrast we have chosen as our lifestyle in Joshua Tree, running a design/fashion company while in the middle of a boulder amphitheater with nothing but cactus, dirt, rocks, lizards, rattlers, coyotes, roadrunners, other desert critters, and most importantly, silence, peace and an incredible energy that inspires.
~ SUNSET: Cadillac Ranch, a visually stunning line of spray painted 1950’s Cadillacs buried head first into the ground. An ever-changing art installation where each car is a canvas that invites visitors to paint. One of those places that make you wonder, "Why here? What for?" Yet there we were (middle of nowhere on a random Monday) Russians, French, Germans, Americans and even one Venezuelan! All fascinated by it. And the answer (we think) is because creative souls need to EXPRESS just for the sake of it. This makes Art, ideas materialized for the world to interpret... thoughts to transcend.
We had a great meeting this morning with enthusiastic fashion blogger Jamie Lewinger, voted “Best Blogger of 2014” in Albuquerque. We are honored to have been given such warm attention and positive feedback. She chose one of our Illusion necklaces! Check her out at: http://www.morethanturquoise.com
